This is a Colombian decaf coffee made using the Ethyl Acetate (EA) decaf process which is a gentle, flavor-preserving method used to remove caffeine from coffee while maintaining its natural character. Green coffee beans are first soaked in water to dissolve caffeine and flavor compounds. This liquid is then treated with ethyl acetate—a naturally occurring compound often derived from fermented sugarcane—which selectively bonds with caffeine. Once the caffeine is removed, the beans are reintroduced to the flavor-rich solution so they can reabsorb their original compounds. The ethyl acetate is then evaporated, leaving the beans virtually caffeine-free. The result is a clean, smooth decaf coffee that retains clarity, sweetness, and balance without the harshness often associated with decaffeination.

This coffee is available as whole bean or ground in 6oz, 12oz, or 5lb bags. The packaging for our 6oz and 12oz bags is compostable.
